A collaboration of Seventh-day Adventist healthcare systems in the United States to promote physician opportunities
Adventist Medical Center-Hanford (AMC-H), part of Adventist Health's Central Valley Network, is a 142-bed acute-care hospital in Hanford, California, replacing the former Hanford Community Medical Center. AMC-H serves 19 communities in Kings, Tulare, Kern and southern Fresno counties. Services include breast care center, wound healing center, cardiac catheterization lab, cardiopulmonary, 24-hour emergency care, ICU, imaging, pharmacy, Kerr Outpatient Center, lab, medical surgical nursing care, outpatient lab, surgery, 2 physical therapy sites and Sequoia Regional Cancer Center. The medical center also oversees a network of primary care physicians, 26 community care clinics and 2 residency programs.
In 2011, CVN opened a new Breast Care Center offering a full complement of services covering multiple aspects of breast diagnostics and care as well as comprehensive Cardiopulmonary Services in the Hanford Medical Pavilion with new equipment and three major treatment rooms. In addition, ground was broken on the new 7,200 square-foot Adventist Medical Plaza in Dinuba. In 2012, Kings and Tulare county patients gained access to a comprehensive center for treatment of non-healing wounds, with the opening of Adventist Health/Wound Healing Center on Mall Drive in Hanford. With advanced equipment, including two hyperbaric chambers, the center is one of the most convenient, comprehensive and sophisticated wound facilities in the region.
The four acute-care hospitals that comprise the Central Valley Network are AMC-H, Adventist Medical Center-Reedley, Adventist Medical Center-Selma and Central Valley General Hospital. Together in 2011, these hospitals had 13,766 admissions, 3,032 deliveries, 100,414 ER visits and 728,555 outpatient visits, 19,709 home health visits and 8,493 hospice visits. The Network is staffed by 484 physicians, 2,768 employees and 167 volunteers. In addition, over $46.7 million in free and low-cost services were provided to the community.
Hanford is one of California's hidden treasures, with rich history and a professional attitude toward growth. Located in the heart of California's San Joaquin Valley, Hanford lies between the Sierra Nevada and the Coastal mountain ranges in Kings County, and is equidistant from the greater Los Angeles area to the south, and the San Francisco-Sacramento area to the north.
With the opening of a new medical-surgical hospital (Adventist Medical Center-Hanford) and adjacent ambulatory surgery center (Hanford Medical Pavilion), the community enters a unique era in the delivery of health care. This is an exciting time in which physicians, the community and our employees share benefits from a modern healing environment that promises to continue our vision of being the best place to practice medicine, the best place to receive care, and the best place to work. Our service area in Kings, Tulare and Fresno counties offers a population of about 250,000 that is projected to expand significantly in the next 15 years, yet already has fewer physicians than it needs. Adventist Medical Center-Hanford is part of the Adventist Health/Central Valley Network system. The network offers many resources to physicians with 4 hospitals, 23 Community Care clinics and 3 JobCare Clinics.
Low HMO penetration, a friendly medical community and supportive hospital leadership and staff, as well as close-knit towns with beautifully restored homes and business and thriving retail markets await the right candidates. While our area is just a few hours drive from the excitement of San Francisco, Los Angeles, Yosemite and the Pacific Ocean, it maintains a pleasant, slow-paced, family-friendly environment, with housing costs well below the state average.
Hanford offers a unique blend of historic and contemporary living environments. While "quality of life" is a term used by many, it is especially appropriate in Hanford where the concern and caring of its community members are obvious in the high standards maintained.
You can literally have it all in Hanford!
